Lucy Hale 1996-2021

We’re extremely saddened to hear that composer Lucy Hale has passed away at the age of 26. Born in South London and formerly a student of Treloar School & College, Lucy’s work, Timeline of Terra Firma, was the Lasham Classical Music Festival’s first ever commission which we performed at the 2018 Festival.

Lucy was an extremely accomplished composer and had recently experienced enormous success, attaining a place on the Royal Philharmonic Society Composer’s Programme and was set to write a new work to be performed at Wigmore Hall later this year. Other achievements included her role as the inaugural Young Composer-in-Association with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Resound, Young Composer-in-Residence with Orchestras for All, as well as being a dedicated Associate Musician with Drake Music.

All of us at the Lasham Classical Music Festival offer our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time. We hope to be able to programme more of Lucy’s work in future years to continue her legacy.
