Dear Friends and Supporters,

Since we started the Esseham Music Charity in 2016, we have offered grants of approximately £20,000 funded by the proceeds from Lasham Music Festival ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations. Our largest-ever application process took place last September, and we have now distributed the remaining funds in our account in the form of grants to 14 talented local young musicians. As a result, we have taken the decision to close the charity.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past 10 years. It has been an incredible journey, made all the more special by the talented musicians who have come from near and far to perform in our village. Their performances, many of which have led to great success across the UK and beyond, have been a true gift to our community. I’m also deeply grateful to everyone who volunteered their time or attended our concerts. Among many cherished memories, one that will always stay with us is the unforgettable performance of Quartet for the End of Time at the 2019 Festival, with the setting sun streaming through the stained glass windows.

A special thanks goes to our trustees, who have been part of the charity since its inception and have played a vital role in supporting the next generation of musicians in our area.
