We are very sorry that we will be unable to stage the 2020 Lasham Classical Music Festival. The ongoing health concerns around COVID-19 and social distancing requirements mean, regrettably, we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel all planned Festival performances for the remainder of the year. This is an extremely disappointing day for all of us as we were looking forward to another exciting programme with many familiar Festival Players returning. In these uncertain times we do offer a silver lining that we will be holding the Lasham Classical Music Festival in 2021 and the dates for your diary are Monday 28th June to Sunday 4th July 2021.
As a relatively new charity, we are grateful to those who have generously made donations to support our aim to widen the opportunities for young musicians to build classical music experience. The Charity mostly generates income through our annual Festival concert ticket sales to support our charitable purposes including the awarding of grants and supporting opportunities for young musicians to develop their classical music playing and experience. We will shortly be refunding all 2020 Festival ticket holders and starting our own COVID-19 Emergency Appeal to support our aim to continue with our grant awards and outreach programme once Government guidance and the health situation allows. We hope that those of you who had purchased 2020 Festival tickets, or would have in the weeks ahead, would consider donating to this worthy cause.
We are hoping that when the lockdown allows, we’ll be able to provide some content online for all of our loyal supporters to enjoy but until then we wish you the best of health in the times ahead and look forward to welcoming you to a concert in the future.
