2019 Festival & Esseham Music Award Winners

We hope you are having a great start to 2019. It's been a while since we shared our news with you all and it's been a busy few months with a great deal of fundraising taking place for the Esseham Music Charity. This resulted in £1900 of grants being awarded to six instrumentalists following auditions in November. Congratulations to Mungo Everett-Jordan (violin), Laura Leigh (trumpet), Tian Pan (violin), Eleanor Schute (violin) Tian Pan (violin) & Katy Webber (oboe). We wish them the best in their future musical studies and look forward to welcoming Laura to play alongside the Festival Players in June.

This brings us on to our 2019 festival programme which we're delighted to announce will return to it's main venue, St Mary's Church, Lasham. This years programme will explore the impact of conflict on musicians and in particular the compositions of the mid 20th century. Festival highlights will include performances of Elgar's Piano Quintet, Stravinsky's L'histore du solat (for violin, clarinet & piano), Saint Saëns Septet (featuring Esseham Music Charity Award Winner, Laura Leigh) and Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time.

It’s not too late to sign up to our mailing list at www.lashammusicfestival.co.uk to receive a priority booking code! Alternatively Public Booking will open on the 4th March.
